brought to life with feminine brush strokes, gradient watercolour finishes, and poised human silhouettes. 
Meet Penang-born Eleen Tan, an Art Educator and Fashion Illustrator whose work has been featured in VOGUE
and highlighted in TATLER Asia. She creates fashion illustrations for well-known fashion names in Malaysia,
showcasing her unique artistic flair and making her mark in the fashion world.

Eleen Tan, Fashion Illustrator

Eleen Tan is no stranger to the Malaysian fashion illustration industry. Since 2010, she has transformed her childhood passion into a distinguished career, creating exquisite fashion imagery that has captivated audiences nationwide. She was awarded a full scholarship from The Star Education Fund and earned her Diploma in Illustration from The One Academy of Communication Design. Shortly after, Eleen began contributing regularly to Malaysia’s leading fashion magazines, including Female, Marie Claire, HerWorld, Cleo, Sisters, and Nuyou.

For over a decade, Eleen has brought fashion to life through live drawing at high-profile events, from grand openings and exclusive launches to VIP gatherings and brand activations. Her clientele includes some of the world’s most prestigious fashion and beauty houses, including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Roger Vivier. She also collaborates with celebrated designers like Cassey Gan, Bremen Wong, Ambersze London, and Yoke & Theam on bespoke illustration projects.
Eleen Tan, as an Educator

When she’s not drawing, Eleen is dedicated to teaching. Driven by her passion for education, she earned her MA in Visual Communication, following a BA (Hons) in the same field with a focus on Fashion Illustration, both from Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom,
 graduating with First Class Honours and a Distinction.

Upon returning to Malaysia, Eleen began her academic career lecturing at The One Academy Penang and later held the position of Programme Coordinator for the BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing at First City University College. She currently teaches illustration-related modules at First City University College and Fashion Illustration at Sunway College, contributing to their newly launched Fashion Technology and Fashion Media programmes.


In addition to teaching, Eleen contributed to the 2018 publication Fashion Sketching: A Complete Guidebook for Beginners by SendPoints Publishing Ltd., a respected Hong Kong-based publisher. Through collaborations with leading luxury fashion and beauty brands, she continuously expands her expertise, sharpening both her creative skills and client management abilities. As an educator, Eleen brings valuable industry knowledge into the classroom, preparing students with insights into current trends and the practical workings of the art and design industries.
